Ephesians 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

4  But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

5  Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

Are you in your own way?

The first step in hearing the Word of God is to quiet our own thoughts and preconceived ideas about Him.

Sir Lionel Alfred Luckhoo (March 2, 1914–December 12, 1997) was a Guyana born politician, diplomat, and well-known lawyer, famed for his 245 consecutive successful defenses in murder cases. That's right 245 !!!!

What does this brilliant legal mind have to say about the evidence to support the legal evidence supporting the historically documented resurrection of Jesus Christ?

He wrote: "I humbly add I have spent more than 42 years as a defense trial lawyer appearing in many parts of the world and am still in active practice. I have been fortunate to secure a number of successes in jury trials and I say unequivocally the evidence for the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is so overwhelming that it compels acceptance by proof which leaves absolutely no room for doubt."

Lee Strobel, a Yale-educated, award-winning journalist at the Chicago Tribune. As an atheist, he decided to compile a legal case against Jesus Christ and prove him to be a fraud by the weight of the evidence. As Legal Editor of the Tribune, Strobel's area of expertise was courtroom analysis. To make his case against Christ, Strobel cross-examined a number of Christian authorities, recognized experts in their own fields of study (including PhD's from such prestigious academic centers as Cambridge, Princeton, and Brandeis). He conducted his examination with no religious bias, other than his predisposition to atheism. Remarkably, after compiling and critically examining the evidence for himself, Strobel became a Christian. Stunned by his findings, he organized the evidence into a book entitled, The Case for Christ, which won the Gold Medallion Book Award for excellence. Strobel asks one thing of each reader - remain unbiased in your examination of the evidence. In the end, judge the evidence for yourself, acting as the lone juror in the case for Christ...

One of the more overwhelming testimonies regarding the depth of archeological evidence for the Bible is in the account of the famous historian and archeologist Sir William Ramsay. Ramsay was very skeptical of the accuracy of the New Testament, and he ventured to Asia minor over a century ago to refute its historicity. He especially took interest in Luke's accounts in the Gospel of Luke and the Book of Acts, which contained numerous geographical and historic references. Dig after dig the evidence without fail supported Luke's accounts. Governors mentioned by Luke that many historians never believe existed were confirmed by the evidence excavated by Ramsay's archeological team. Without a single error, Luke was accurate in naming 32 countries, 54 cities, and 9 islands. Ramsay became so overwhelmed with the evidence he eventually converted to Christianity. Ramsay finally had this to say:

I began with a mind unfavorable to it...but more recently I found myself brought into contact with the Book of Acts as an authority for the topography, antiquities, and society of Asia Minor. It was gradually borne upon me that in various details the narrative showed marvelous truth3.

Luke is a historian of the first rank; not merely are his statements of fact trustworthy...this author should be placed along with the very greatest historians.

Dr. Peter Stoner was Chairman of the Departments of Mathematics and Astronomy at Pasadena City College until 1953; Chairman of the science division, Westmont College 1953–57; Professor Emeritus of Science, Westmont College; Professor Emeritus of Mathematics and Astronomy, Pasadena City College.

Speaking of fulfillment of prophecy in the Bible. He had this to say:

"To answer the question what is the probability of one man fulfilling just eight prophecies, the principal of probability is applied. Therefore, multiplying all eight probabilities together (1 times 2.8 x 105 x 103 x 102 x 103 x 103 x 105 x 103 x 104) gives us 2.8 x 1028, or for simplicity sake 1 x 1028 or 1 in 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. Given this and the time span between the writings of the Old Testament and the fulfillment by Christ in the New Testament, the prophecies were either given to the prophets by God, or the prophets just wrote them down as they thought they should be. With Christ fulfilling all eight prophecies, what are the odds the prophets were just guessing?"

Saved By Grace by Jim Brackin

If you don't know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal saviour it's my prayer that you might hear something  in the next few minutes that will convict you.  That is,  convince you that you need a saviour.  If you are already saved, then it's my hope that you might hear something  that will build you up in your faith and help to establish you in the truth of the gospel.

I hope that you will understand that your salvation is based totally and completely on the finished work of Christ at calvary for you.  Your salvation is not based in any way on what you can do or could do for the Lord in order to find favor with God, nor is your eternal security based in any way on what you do for the Lord after you are saved.

For your salvation God does not require a sacrifice from you. But miracle of all miracles, instead of God asking you to bring him a sacrifice, God instead, brought you a sacrifice. The Lord Jesus Christ.  Who died for your sins.

The bible says that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself not imputing their trespasses unto them.  So the point is, that your sins are already paid for.

God is not going to reckon or impute your sins to you.  Because nearly two thousand years ago he reckoned them to Christ.  And the bible says that God made him to be sin for us. So what's the problem then? You need Jesus Christ as your saviour.

One day, you're going to have to answer to God for what you believe.  What you believe about Christ.  Are you trusting Christ?  Is Jesus Christ your saviour?  Do you have a saviour?

Romans ten verse nine says that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thy heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  Then if you believe that Jesus Christ died for  your sins, you believe that he died for all of them.  That is, when Jesus Christ died in A D thirty three, your sins were in the future.  In other words, Christ died in A D thirty three and you were not even born until this past century.

So your life and all of your sin were all in the future when Christ died.  He died then.  And you are living now.  If Christ died for your sins, then he died for all of them.  To believe that Christ died for your sins, up to the day you believed in him, the day you were saved.  And then to believe from then on you must live without sin, or else repent and confess daily, in order to stay saved is not the salvation that is given to the apostle Paul, the apostle of the gentiles.

To believe the truth of first john one verse nine, if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, is to not believe the completeness of your salvation in Colossians two verse thirteen.  That God has forgiven us all trespasses. Or Ephesians four verse thirty two, that God has forgiven us.  Or romans five verse eleven, that you have already received the atonement.

That atonement that you already have is the same atonement that Peter, James and John looked forward to at the second coming of Christ.

To not believe that your salvation is finished and complete, in the finished work of Christ, is to refuse to rightly divide the word of truth.  As in second timothy two fifteen.  And, is to fail to see the difference between prophecy, and mystery.  That is, the difference between the things spoken by all the holy prophets, to the nation of Israel since the world began, and, the gospel, which was revealed to the apostle Paul, who preached, according to my gospel.  And the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was not spoken by anybody before, but was kept secret, since the world began. As in, romans chapter sixteen, verse twenty five. You see, the message that Paul delivered to you, was, that Christ died for, all your sins.  So, to believe in Jesus Christ as your saviour, is to believe that all your sins, are paid for.  And that God will never call you into judgement for your sins, ever again.  Why?  Because He called Jesus Christ into judgement for your sins.  He placed your sins, upon Chirst.  The bible says, God made him, Jesus Christ, sin, for us.  Therefore, God found Jesus, guilty.  Of your, sins.  God condemned Jesus Christ for your sins, poured his wrath upon him.  Satisfying his wrath against you, by pouring it out on Christ.  So, what do you do?  You receive Christ as your saviour.  You believe on him.  Not just in him.  You believe, on him, as your saviour.  Your accept him, as your saviour.  You believe the record, that God gave through Paul.  that Christ was judged for you.  that Christ paid for your sins.  The wages of sin is death.  And Christ died, according to first Corinthians fifteen verse three.  For our sins.

The pay off for sin, is death.  The wages of sin, is death.  Now, if God has already judged Christ for your sins, and he received, your wages.  Then, God is not going to judge your sins, in you. That would be, receiving double wages.  Christ paid the wages by dieing.  You need him, as your saviour.

Waiting to decide?

Coming to a decision about one's personal faith is not ever easy to the individual that insists on making that choice a total commitment.  But how could it be anything less than 100 per cent devotion and obedience?  As a result many who refuse to compromise take longer to decide than most.  This short presentation is dedicated to all my brothers and sisters in Christ that took some time to come to the knowledge of the truth rightly divided. We are saved by the grace of God and not by works.

Edifying the Body of Christ

After all the yearning, searching and praying there comes a moment.  A singular moment of realization and clarity that is a true eureka moment.  It does not happen by wishful thinking.  It does not happen by chance or circumstance.  It comes by the Word of God, by the gospel of Christ which is the power of God unto salvation to EVERY ONE that believes.

When all the pieces fit that never fit before.  When the question, "Why Paul?" has a clear answer that is blinding in it's simplicity. When the Creator's plan is overwhelmingly evident.

That's when your heart least expects it.  And then you understand that when God says "sit down"......don't look for a chair.

Ness Ann Wallwork Says

I love our liberty in Christ, that we are afforded the directive from God through the writings of apostle Paul ... to learn, grow, mature and STAND on TRUTH !

This very same liberty in Christ allows one to err ... in that making mistakes, learning what God has to say on the matter, we MATURE in the faith, giving ALL GLORY to our GREAT GOD ALMIGHTY !!!

WITHOUT the influence and mind block of man's ignorance.

We don't KNOW everything, but the road is clear to LEARN and GROW through edification in the Scriptures !
